How SOROS bv handles your personal data.

This privacy policy explains how SOROS bv handles personal data collected through www.soros.be. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian privacy law.

2. Which data we process

  • Data you enter in the contact form: name, email address, phone number, company, subject and your question.
  • Data you send us by email or phone, and data we exchange during an assignment.
  • Technical data needed to run the website, such as your IP address, browser type and language preference.
  • Anonymous visitor statistics (pages visited, referring website, country), collected without cookies.

3. Why we process your data

  • To answer your question or request for an introduction (legitimate interest, or steps prior to a contract).
  • To prepare, perform and invoice an assignment (performance of a contract).
  • To comply with legal obligations, such as accounting and tax rules (legal obligation).
  • To keep the website secure and improve it based on anonymous statistics (legitimate interest).

We do not sell your data and do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling. We only send you newsletters or marketing if you have asked for them.

4. Who receives your data

Your data is processed by SOROS bv only. We use processors that act on our instructions: Odoo S.A. (Belgium) hosts this website and our business software, and our accountant processes invoicing data. Your data is stored within the European Union.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Contact requests that do not lead to an assignment: at most two years after the last contact.
  • Client and assignment data: for the duration of the collaboration and afterwards as long as the law requires, for example for accounting purposes.

6. Cookies

This website only uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, such as remembering your language and your cookie choice. Visitor statistics are collected with Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not store personal data. You can find more information in our cookie policy.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Send your request to byron@soros.be; we will reply within one month.

If you believe your data is not handled correctly, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

8. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access limited to what is needed.
